It seems like spring is far off, but it will be here before you know it. We honor the requested ship dates we receive by trying to hit them as close as possible. Unfortunately, every year we receive too many last minute requests. Our staff does a great job, but they can only dig, pull and load so many truckloads of material each week. Please help us to have your material ready when you want it by giving us a requested ship date as soon as possible.
I know you have been hearing for a while that plants will be short, but call around and check availabilities. The longer you wait, the harder it will be to find the plants you need.
Now is the time to review your acknowledgements to be sure your needs are covered for the upcoming spring. We still have a good selection of Unique and Specimen material as well as the bread and butter material available to fill the gaps in your needs. But they are going fast! Please don’t hesitate to call your sales representative.
One of the things that make the Green Industry a great business to work in is that it is made up of family businesses. Our family wishes your family a Merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year. We will be closing at noon on Christmas Eve and remain closed until January 4th, 2016.
Once the holiday season is over, stop by and see us at the following trade shows:
Mid-Atlantic Nursery Trade Show (MANTS) – January 6 – 8
Booth: 2310 – 2312
Central Environmental Nursery Trade Show (CENTS) – January 11 – 13
Great Lakes Trade Expo – January 26 – 27
iLandscape – February 3 – 5
For those of you who have placed a Spring 2016 order, you should be receiving your acknowledgment in the mail shortly. Please review what you have been acknowledged. Demand is high and supplies are low on some plants, so pay special attention to any size or variety substitutions. Those of you who have not placed your order, we encourage you to do so sooner than later.
The staff at Losely Nursery hopes you have the opportunity to spend Thanksgiving with your family. We are closing on Wednesday, November 25th at noon for the weekend so all of us can spend time with ours. We will be open on Monday, November 30th.
On November 25th, the day before Thanksgiving, we will start the process of putting spring orders against the current inventory. When we do this, there will undoubtedly be many oversold items. We will begin the allocation process at this time for these items. Any order that comes in after the allocation process has started will be date and time stamped to be entered against available inventory after the allocation process is completed. Therefore, it is important to get your spring order in as soon as possible.
We are getting ready for Winter, but we still have plenty of container plants looking great and some are in bloom. The doors aren’t on yet and every house is easy to get in. With the upcoming warm week, there is still time to get that last couple of projects done. You have the time and we have the plants.
We grow our evergreen trees in liner rows before we dig a ball on them for transplanting. This trims all of the roots and forms a heavily fibered root system on the tree. The high quality root mass ensures our customers of fantastic success with our spruce, pine and fir.
Unique and Specimen trees are one of the things that set us apart from other nurseries. We can mix these in with your B&B and container shrubs, smaller B&B trees and one gallon material. Our loading crews are masters at blending mixed size loads together. Stop in for a tour and see what we grow that you may not find anywhere else.
