The staff at Losely Nursery hopes you have the opportunity to spend Thanksgiving with your family. We are closing on Wednesday, November 25th at noon for the weekend so all of us can spend time with ours. We will be open on Monday, November 30th.
On November 25th, the day before Thanksgiving, we will start the process of putting spring orders against the current inventory. When we do this, there will undoubtedly be many oversold items. We will begin the allocation process at this time for these items. Any order that comes in after the allocation process has started will be date and time stamped to be entered against available inventory after the allocation process is completed. Therefore, it is important to get your spring order in as soon as possible.
We are getting ready for Winter, but we still have plenty of container plants looking great and some are in bloom. The doors aren’t on yet and every house is easy to get in. With the upcoming warm week, there is still time to get that last couple of projects done. You have the time and we have the plants.
We grow our evergreen trees in liner rows before we dig a ball on them for transplanting. This trims all of the roots and forms a heavily fibered root system on the tree. The high quality root mass ensures our customers of fantastic success with our spruce, pine and fir.
Unique and Specimen trees are one of the things that set us apart from other nurseries. We can mix these in with your B&B and container shrubs, smaller B&B trees and one gallon material. Our loading crews are masters at blending mixed size loads together. Stop in for a tour and see what we grow that you may not find anywhere else.
We have a great selection of evergreens that will fit most every design need whether it is weeping, columnar, low and round, for a screen or a specimen piece. Check the availability and you will find them ranging in size from 3′ Picea pungens Globosa to 19′ Pinus strobus Columnaris.
We grow 16 varieties of taxus, so we are sure to have one to fit your needs. From cold hardy cuspidata, to tall and thin Adam’s perfect for hedges, to Densiformis, Wardii and Brownii for mass and foundation plantings. They are machine dug in a basket for an optimum package, yet no larger or heavier than a hand dug ball.
This is the time of the year when most plants are losing their visual impact. Grasses are coming into their own now adding interest and texture to a landscape. We have a great selection ranging in size from the compact Pennisetum a. ‘Little Bunny’ to the tall Erianthus ravennae.
We strive to grow plants that are of a superior quality that shine in any landscape. In an effort to ensure our high quality plants have solid root balls that hold up to handling and shipping, we put a machine ball and wire basket on many plants that are traditionally hand dug. Some examples are in the photos below. We believe you will agree that the extra effort and cost we put into the package pays off with your customer’s satisfaction.
